Western Canada Energy (formerly Westbow Energy) is a junior oil and gas company involved in exploration and production activities in Western Canada, primarily in Alberta, and northeastern British Columbia. Its primary properties are in Bonanza, Elmwoth, Mitsue, Poice Coupe, Progress, and Redwater in Alberta. Westbow Energy reported proved reserves of 58,000 barrels of oil and 1.4 billion cu. ft. of natural gas. In 2008 Westbow Energy merged with fellow Canadian exploration and production company Blackpool Exploration Ltd. and adopted its new name. In 2010 the company declared bankruptcy and was acquired by Shoreline Energy Fund for about $6 million.
