How do you fix a 1993 Nissan Sentra with 93 thousand miles that has been idling roughly and takes a while to gain speed?
It needs a good tune up first. Plugs, wires rotor and cap and fuel and air filters. Also run injector cleaner through it and last check the cat convertor.
Several different reasons. It could be engine control devices going bad, or something with the bearings in one or more of the accessories; A/C compressor bearings, alternator bearings, etc. You should take your car to a tune-up shop and have it checked out. Answer If it is a bearing, you should b…e able to hear it. High wirring or grinding sound. Taking off the belt and turning/wobbling by hand will tell for sure. Usually sensors with computerized cars cause them to run bad. What a scam, huh? Instead of just lighting up a light as they go bad they cause the whole system to run bad. Do the standard check for wires fallen off/broken(run at night with lights off and hood open, look for blue arcing), vacume leaks, etc. Especially if it happened all at once. Heard Auto-zone has a dianostic check but call for sure. Dokter Denney ( Full Answer )
Answer . If you drive through a water puddle, water can get on the belts-antifreeze leaking, oil leaking, maybe a bad alternator /idler bearing, and sometimes a glazed/worn out belt..
Answer . \nThe starter in a 1991 Nissan Sentra is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment. It is easily spotted down in the gap between the engine head and the air intake and battery areas... It looks like a fat cylinder at the top of the engine and transmission joining.
Follow the bottom hose to the thermostat housing on the front side of the engine. There should be two 10mm bolts. remove the bolts, pop the cover off, and remove the old thermostat. Scrape the old Gasket off, if any. Then reverse the procedure, putting the new thermostat in. As an added protec…tion, you may want to lightly dab some red RTV, where it is medal to medal. Answer Harmonic balancer may be bad. . \nThere is a good possibility that the harmonic balancer is bad...if it is, it'll destroy the belts and possibly more on the front (right side ) of the engine.
Answer . \nCheck the tailpipe for contact with the body. A loose hanger that holds the exhaust up may be sagging. The movement of the motor starting will jar the exhaust system.
What could cause my 2002 Nissan Sentra to make a ticking sound when it is first started that goes away after it warms up?
\n. \n. \n Answer \n. \n. \nok, MOST likely just noise from the valve train...related to mileage and wear...if you have high miles, you should be using 20W-50 weight oil anyway to help compensate for the wear...also try using an additive like LUCAS oil stabilizer this will increase your com…pression on an older engine, and will help quiet down the upper end of your engine...keep in mind, it is most likely COMPLETLEY NORMAL...\n. )\n . also...everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the local library should have a professional shop manual available, to make copies of, in the Reference section...good luck:) ( Full Answer )
Answer If its not the battery, or alternator. Check your ground wire, down by the starter, to make sure its not loose.
Answer . Start with checking the battery terminals for corrosion, then the wires going to the starter. Be sure everything is clean and tight. Also have the battery checked
Answer . could be any number of things you need to list symptoms as to what it does when you try to start it or what it ran like the last time it was running
The 1997 Nissan Sentra, like almost all passenger vehicles made since the late 1980s, does not use a carburetor. It uses fuel injection. Instead of mixing air and gasoline in the carburetor, then forcing that into the cylinder, the air is forced into the cylinder by itself, then gasoline is squi…rted into the cylinder by the fuel injector. There is one injector for each cylinder, and they are fed gasoline through a "fuel rail", which is a tube where gasoline is pumped from the gas tank to the engine, across all of the injectors, and back to the gas tank. Answer . Look for a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
if it's runninng rough my guess could be spark plugs are fouled up. if not then next check the spark plug wires then the distributor.
It is one of three things.. A) Spark Plugs. B) Fuel Pump. C) Vaccum Hose. It's most likely the plugs, but could very easily be a fuel pump. Vaccum hoses rarely go out but it very well could be a compression problem.
What causes a 1996 Nissan Pickup 4cyl engine to chatter rattle when first started and then runs quiet?
This is a common and unique problem with the Z24 engine. It is cause by the timing tensioner seeping oil while shutdown. The chain actually rattles on it's housing until oil pressure is built up again and brings the timing chain to the appropriate tension again. I have a 1996 Nissan Pickup with abou…t 150,000 miles on it and it has done it since it had about 50,000 miles (I bought it new with 12 miles on it). I would assume that the constant rattling at startup would lead to a reduce lifespan of the timing chain, but it is actually not common for one to snap. One of those strange anomalies that we live with, because the trucks are so great (and otherwise bulletproof!) The god awful noise it makes when the steering wheel is turned to the limits to the right and allowed to roll forward or back is another, normal bad sounding thing! ( Full Answer )
Does it turn over real free and easy? Then could be a broken timing belt. If not that then spark and fuel. Spark issues could be a bad coil, ignition module and fuel issues could be bad fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator etc. Hope this helps.
you steering wheel starts shaking because you probably have warped roders your shaking will get worse at higher speeds and when pressing the brake
Driverside bottom of the windshield, driverside door panel, and there may be on on the hood in the engine compartment
You, in all probabilty have either bad battery connections, a bad battery or the start solenoid. I would say the connections are the problem.
A few quick things to check- If it does NOT "crank over": Check the battery and cables. Check the in-line fuses. If it does "crank over", but does not start: Check the distributer, spark plugs and wires. Check the air and fuel filters.
A flashing check engine light (CEL) means it needs to be taken to a mechanic now. Nissans have a history of sensors coming on, but a flashing sensor indicates a problem requiring immediate attention. Not sure why the car won't start, but could be a number of reasons. I had a fuel sensor go bad on my… Maxima and it wouldn't start because it flooded the pistons, so I replaced that sensor. But you may have a different problem. Bottom line, have it towed to a mechanic. ( Full Answer )
Changing the spark plugs on an 05 Nissan Sentra 1.8 begins withremoving the plastic cover over the plugs, pulling the plug wires, and inserting a deep wall socket into each cylinder to remove thespark plugs. After each plug is removed, a replacement plug isplaced into the socket wrench, and re-instal…led. ( Full Answer )
I can't tell much from what you've described but it sure sounds like either a fuel filter or a failing fuel pump.
could be a number of things. The first thing i would do is check when the last time you had an engine tune up. Usually every 80000kms is recommended in a sentra. It most likely is the spark gap on your spark plugs, they could be getting old and need to be replaced. I recommend NKG spark plugs, you d…ont need platinum tipped ones, i find they cause more problems. I hope this helped. ( Full Answer )
The negative cable is removed first, then the positive. To re-connect, the positive goes first, then the negative.
I have an 05 sentra that shifts rough from 1rst to 2nd, especially when cold. You find any answers? thanks, Brian email@example.com
Make sure you have the ignition supply for the injectors. Check the starter signal input to the engine computer.

How much would it cost to completely replace the rear bumper and a tail light on an 05 Nissan sentra?
just about $1200 i got a 05 nissa sentra and its weird you got the same accident my tail lite and bumper need to be replaced i got a estimate for $1208.51
You need to gather more info so do these following steps and use your results to ask a new more specif question:. Does it sound like the starter has no power?. Dous engine sound like it wants to start or does it sound dead?
One of the reasons for a 2003 Nissan Sentra to run rough and stallout when it comes to stop is a bad oxygen sensor. Another cause forthe running rough could also be a dirty air cleaner.
there should be a fill plug on the side of the transmission case. its a bolt the size of a quarter.
Try cleaning the Idol Air Control valve with carb cleaner and Q tips. Look up the instructions before you try anything.
This problem may not be make and model specific. Usually when it takes a long time to start your car, there is a problem with the starter or the fuses that help start your car. In addition, your battery could be wearing out (check for corrosion as well), this can make it harder for your engine to tu…rnover. I recommend having the fuses in the starting system and the starter itself checked out by a professional mechanic. If your battery is old, you should probably change it because a stronger batter could provide more electricity into your power system, making your car start faster. ( Full Answer )
It is the starters breaks after it finishes starting the car. It is normal and it is ok.
Well, if it doesn't start after replacing the fluids, recheck thefluid levels again because they may have dropped as the systemsabsorbed the fluids. If it still doesn't start, part it out and buya new car.
