The 1968, 69, 79 has the voltage reglator mounted on the driver side of the engine compartment, inside the engine compartment. It is mounted so that it is insulated, and is a retangular black box with wire coming out of it. Good luck

The first generation Chevy Van came out in 1964. The rear engine Chevrolet Corvair Van came out in 1961. I don't think there was a Chevy Van in 1960.
A voltage regulator on a Chevy 1973 or newer is built into the alternator.
I believe it is integral to the alternator... i.e. if the voltage regulator dies you need to buy a new alternator
The 1998 Chevrolet Astro Van voltage regulator is part of the alternator. The voltage regulator cannot be individually changed. You will need to change the entire alternator.

The voltage regulator, on your 1987 Ford Van, is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The voltage regulator should be on the passenger side of the firewall.
The engine computer is also the voltage regulator.
