1989 Peugeot 405 4 speed auto Will not start has good battery ignition lights up but not a sound can anyone out there help?

If there is no sound - that means the starter has not engaged. Take the starter off and have your local Auto Parts store check it out on their bench setup. If bad, you can usually trade it to them with some money for a rebuilt starter. If the car has not been run for months, even a new starter may not get the engine turning over. Push the car down a steep hill (with you inside) and change from neutral to second gear - either the engine will turn over a bit (and start, if you are lucky) or you'll know that you have a major problem.
