change distributor cap, plugs, wires, rotor. i just had the same problem with my 88, its about a $60 fix
you dont bring it in to the dealer the moduale is usually in the sterring colume and you have to take it apart to do this You can try disconnecting the battery for a min of 5 mins, make sure if your radio needs a code you have it
Right next to the gas moduale
try the ignition control moduale under distributor cap . Any gasoline engine needs fuel and ignition to start. You can check the coil wire (that's the part that went bad on my astro) and the fuel pump, as well as the ignition module. Listen for the "whirr" of the fuel pump when you first turn the ignition. If you don't hear the pump pressurizing the system that may very well be your problem. Try having someone kick (or rubber mallet) the bottom of the fuel tank while trying to start the motor. This sometimes is enough to get the fuel pump going again when it is going bad.
just had this problem with my 2002 durango, the mechanic ran it on the computer and nothing showed up so he disconnected the battery and then reconnected it and everything works now. The headlights, locks, panel lights, interior lights, locks, rear wipers all run through the body assembly moduale. Hope this helps you.
I'm sure they are all the same, start by taking off the plastic trim inside of the liftgate it has to be open to do this. the pull down handle has two plugs that cover the screws, and the make sure you have help they hang down and can break if you are not careful.Once you have the the whole cover off you will see the speakers, unscrew -unplug and replace you also have a small black moduale pluged in back there ,it is an amp for your speakers .but maybe you need to check all your fuses first one of them supplys the power to the amp if your back speakers don't work check them first .
