Should be either at lower end of steering column or on side of transmission
The inhibitor switch tells the ECU that the (auto) transmission is in park P or nutral N and safe to start the montor so it isn't in gear, it also called the nutral safety switch ,it'slocated on the transmission.
check nutral safety switch
To bypass the cars neutral safety switch, you need to find the two wires to the safety switch and connect them together. It can also be done by putting the car in neutral.
Just jump it or splice the wires together once you find the switch. A wiring diagram will provide location.
How do u bypass the neutral safety switch in a 2002 chevy silverado 1500
Jump power directly to the starter solenoid. Be absolutely certain the vehicle is not in gear if you do this, though.
Not a good idea. It is called a safety switch for a reason.
The starter circuit needs to be configured as a manual transmission. The neutral /park switch can be bypassed at the starter relay. As this switch simply grounds the starter relay coil you need to refer to the wiring diagram and ground the relay coil directly to the chassis.
you can disconnect the starter relay and run a wire from the starter wire in the connector to the power wire on it p.s. it is easyer to take a curcit tester and probe the connectors with someone truning the ignition switch to fine the starter the starter wire is brown and im not sure about the power lead from the ignition switch
Neutral switch
