To create a running engine, you need three basic things: fuel, air, and spark. In the fuel side, it could be the fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel injectors (I think the '93 grand am is FI). On the air side, obviously you have the throttle body, but other contributors to a dead engine are a completely clogged air filter (not likely) or blockage in the exhaust (also not likely). Finally, the spark, which is comprised of the coil - which you replaced, but also the spark plugs / wires (not too likely because if they're bad it'd start eventually but run like crap), the engine computer (does your check engine light come on when you turn the key to ON? If not, that's probably it). So, in summary, I'd be willing to bet that the fuel's bad. Check the fuel pump, listen for it priming when the key is on if it's electric, if it's mechanical somebody else should know how to check it. Past that, I'd check for a clogged fuel filter, a faulty distributor (if it has one, the DIS module if it doesn't), a bad ECM (computer), and bad spark plugs/wires in that order. Good luck... Look for question" grand am won't start after replacing new starter",there should be a walk through on how to reset the Passlock and Anti theft. Does your car headlights and radio still come on even tho the car won't start? And is the battery good,if so try and see if this works
