Hello,I am living in Europe the Netherlands and my wife drives a '94 e150 hightop conversion van. We had a similar airbag lamp problem. we also had (not always) a problem with engaging the cruise control on the steering wheel. After a year the horn did not work. For us this was the signal that the spring coil in the steering wheel was not working. The spring coiul is a need design that connects the electrical things on the steering wheel (horn, airb, cruise) to the fixed steering colomn/chassis.A springcoil costs about USD 90,=Regards,Jan Valk
This issue was addressed in 1993 by Ford when they recalled all 97 Ford Escorts. However, as an owner, my light still blinks after I brought it into a Ford dealership back in 93. This questions still needs an answer. I don't think Ford fixed the problem(s).
When the Mini cooper 2003 airbag light is permanently on, then it needs to be reset.
The airbag light can be reset by connecting an ODBII reader. However the light is on because of a problem with the airbag system. The system needs to be checked to insure that the airbag works properly.
When these light stay on its an indication that something is wrong and needs to be serviced.
The airbag light stays on when there is a malfunction in the system. The computer needs checked for codes, and the cause repaired for the light to go off.
There is not a reset on any of the airbag components. If the light is on, there is a code , and a problem that needs repaired.
The airbag light stays on when the computer detects a malfunction and sets a code. The fault needs repaired and the light will shut itself off.
It is possible the airbag sensor needs to be adjusted or that there is a computer problem. The problem needs to be diagnosed by a mechanic. If the airbag light is on, the airbags won't work in an accident, so it is important to have it fixed as soon as possible. If you're sure there isn't a problem, you can remove the airbag electronic control unit and send it in to a company that works on them to have them clear the unit. A mechanic can do this also, but will want to diagnose the problem and properly repair whatever is wrong.
If the airbag light comes on in hot weather, it usually means that the clockspring needs replacement. Only an authorized repair facility can perform this.
The airbag light stays on when there is a malfunction. The failure needs repaired before the light will go out. You need to have the system checked for codes with a scan tool.
It is the airbag light. If the light stays solid, it means your airbag needs service. If it flashes, it's just self testing.
