i had this problem with the same car same year and model changed plugs, wires, distributor cap and distributor, worked for a week and then happened again, the old and new distributor had a faulty Ignition Control Module. Its a chip that plugs into the distributor itself, actually cheaper to buy a new distributor or go to a junk yard(no guarantee it works) intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, remove manifolds scrape old gaskets off cleanly and install new ones
The exhaust manifold needs to have a gasket in place to help seal the juncture between the manifold and the engine. After the gasket and gasket sealer are in place, tighten the bolts for the exhaust manifold. The exhaust pipe can then be replaced on the new exhaust manifold.
The intake manifold is where the air and fuel mix and enter the engine. The exhaust manifold is where unspent gas and air exit the engine. In other words the intake manifold is where the engine breathes in and the exhaust manifold is how the engine exhales out.
sell your van the studs for the maniflold are going to break and you most likely will have to replace head Between the exhaust manifold and the head is the manifold gasket. Where the exhaust pipe connects to the exhaust manifold is a manifold doughnut gasket.
02 sensor is either in exhaust manifold, or in exhaust pipe between manifold and muffler
Screwed into the exhaust manifold.Screwed into the exhaust manifold.
either in exhaust manifold or in exhaust between manifold and muffler
In the exhaust system between the exhaust manifold(s) and the muffler.
The purpose of the exhaust manifold is to connect the exhaust ports on the cylinder head to the exhaust pipe.
exhaust manifold is where exhaust pipe hooks to engine!
oxygen sensor is found either in exhaust manifold or in actual exhaust pipe between manifold and muffler
The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold before the catalytic convertor. If you look down between the radiator and the exhaust manifold a few inches before the exhaust pipe connects to the exhaust manifold you will see the Oxygen sensor. The sensor will have 2 wires coming from it and it kinda looks like a sparkplug stuck into the exhaust manifold. There is 2 nuts that hold the oxygen sensor into the exhaust manifold.
that can be any number of things. 1 check or replace the distributor. 2 check your head gasket. 3 if its back firing it doesnt always mean u jumped timing, your exhaust manifold gasket could be bad and you might be getting exhaust fumes in your intake manifold. note- intake manifold and exhaust manifold share 1 gasket
In the exhaust manifold behind the engine. In the exhaust manifold behind the engine.
Metallic donut/metal flange type
In the exhaust manifold on the back of the engine. In the exhaust manifold on the back of the engine.
You will need to remove the exhaust manifold retaining bolts in your 1993 Chevy Astro. Remove the exhaust manifold. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket and clean the surface. Reverse the process to install the new exhaust manifold gasket.
Where is the leak coming from. Most likely you will need to replace the exhaust manifold gasket which will require removing the exhaust manifold.
Driver side exhaust manifold.Driver side exhaust manifold.
between the exhaust manifold and the catalittic converter on the exhaust pipe.
Left side (drivers side) exhaust manifold. Between the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter
Intake manifold delivers the fuel air mixture to the cylinder heads, exhaust manifold collects the gases after combustion, and channels them into the exhaust pipe.
The exhaust manifold is the header that starts at the piping on the driver's side of the engine and runs back out to the exhaust.
Usually oxygen sensors are what would be screwed into the exhaust manifold.Usually oxygen sensors are what would be screwed into the exhaust manifold.
Between the exhaust manifold and the muffler, usually under the right side of the vehicle. In the exhaust system between the engine and the muffler.
The exhaust manifold for an E250 is usually sold as a complete kit. The nut is a standard issue, and is between the a half inch and a full inch diameter.
