if your battery is bad, you don't need to conect the negative wire to the battery terminal because when you jump start, the proper way to do it is ,the good battery gets both jumper wires conected to it and the dead battery only needs the positive wire . simply place the negative somewhere on the chasis of the vehicle.(good ground source)engine block or whatever. being that cars operate on a one wire circuit the energy if grounded properly to the vehicle will always find its way back. this will not work if your battery is not ground it(conected) What if my battery (96 Lumina) is good and I want to jump another car. I can't find the negative terminal. Keep in mind I am not the most mechanically inclined person. However I had jumped many batteries in my day. For some reason I can not find the negative terminal on this car. Also Chevy has the battery under the windshield washer fluid container. How idiotic is that!! Maybe I need to take that out? If that's the case then Chevy is ridiculous!!

Start by locating the Positive terminal (usually the red one)... Disconnect it from the battery. Then do the same for the Negative terminal (the black one). Then there may be a small hex head bolt at the bottom the the battery, check for it and remove it, the battery should come right out.

How do you test a signal flasher 95 lumina?

Identify the terminals. Flasher relays have a power source terminal, sometimes labeled (B) for battery, a load terminal labeled (L) and a panel, or dash-indicator terminal, labeled (P). The circuit diagram is sometime printed on the case. If not labeled use an ohm meter to determine which prong is open at rest, i.e., had an infinite resistance across to either of the others. This is the (P) terminal. The other 2 are interchangeable. Clip the test light lead between the (P) terminal and the negative (-) terminal of the battery. Connect the (B) terminal to the positive terminal of the battery using a piece of insulated wire stripped on each end. With another piece of wire wrap a long stripped end around the bad of a 12 volt test bulb. Connect the other end of that wire to the (L) prong. Place the center connector of the test bulb on the battery. At this point, the unit should start flashing, causing both the test bulb and the load bulb to blink. It will blink fast because the load is low. If it blinks the relay is good.
