how to replace power window motor for 2003 dodge grand caravan? how to remove side panel dodge caravan 2003?

One can get a new Caravan Window by going to the company that made the caravan and asking them whether they will either fix a new caravan window, or whether they will just provide the part. One can also go to an online site such as eBay Motors, and Auto Parts Warehouse.

a engin and a window idiot

you probably need to clean and re-grease the window motor

A window fuse box picture can be found in a 2001 Dodge Caravan service manual. The window fuse box along with electrical diagrams, troubleshooting modules, and vacuum diagrams can also be found there.

You will have to replace the complete window regulator assembly.

Probably the the motor/regulator assembly. I was able to pull mine up with my hands then tape it up. A new motor/regulator cost me $300.

Start by checking the power supply from the battery, then check to see if its not the up/down switch and check to see if the motor is bad.

Remove the window regulator assembly from the door.Remove the motor from the regulator by drilling out the attaching rivets with a 3/16 in. drill bit.Connect the window motor to the regulator with 3/16 in. rivets.Install the window regulator assembly.

Unfortunately you can't just change the motor. You have to buy and replace the whole assembly including the window. Its a rip-off but the motor, ratchet, arms and window comes as one replacement assembly.

Disconnect the battery, Remove the door panel, vapor barrier plastic, power window connections, and I would remove the entire regulator assembly with motor attached. It helps to have someone hold the window as it drops inside of the door. Some motors are riveted to the regulator at the factory, so if it is I would obtain a good used assembly at a salvage yard. I have done these in a couple hours. Looks harder then it is.

Remove the inside door panel. The entire power window mechanism will be visible. Put the window back onto the window track.

You can get a diagram for the power window assembly on a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer in the owner's manual. You can also find it at select auto part stores.

I have never seen a car with a battery for the electric window. The electric windows use the main car battery. If your electric window does not function properly, there is some other reason for it's erratic behavior. ie: intermittent short, faulty switch (my guess), faulty window motor, etc, etc.

Remove the door panel. Remove the bolt that fastens the regulator to the window. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the regulator assembly to the door. Squeeze the entire assembly through the largest hole and replace with a new assembly in reverse order.

new weather stripping.caulkingor new window assembly

Because you left the door open while you were working on the power window problem, and the interior light ran the battery down.

The window is not off track. The window regulator is broken. In most cases you will have to replace the window motor and regulator as an assembly.

Driver Side Window Regulator Assembly replace on 2004 pontiac grand prix

The window regulator assembly is not repairable, you will have to replace it if the metal wire has broken. Look on eBay they are around 40.00 for the whole assembly.
