the vacuum line runs to the back of the engine and fits inside a little rubber thing that is best described as a "tit" with a hole in the center. it's behind the egr valve underneath. push the hose into that tit and use a zip tie to secure it. reset the p0402 code and your done. the code may reset itself after driving a short time
water pump
idle air controll, leaking fuel injector, egr stuck
Your Dodge Durango may stall when idling at a stop light for a couple of reason. One reason may be that a part needs to be replaced on the car.
I experienced this problem after my car was leaking motor oil due to old faulty gaskets that needed to be replaced. Apparently because of the oil spreading everywhere it reached the engine mount. The oil combined with the heat from usage caused to wear down the rubber portion of the engine mount. I noticed the rough idling was gone once that piece was changed. Side note: It also helps to make sure your timing belt is well calibrated to determine proper idling. ANSWER: Another posibility is a vacuum leak or an air leak between the MAF meter and the intake plenum.
AnswerIf the engine is idling very low - oil pump may not generate enough pressure, causing light to come on. Make sure you have adequate oil, and that idle speed is correct. If this does not correct, possibly oil pump screen dirty It could also be the oil sensor is bad or leaking. This happened in my 1996 Chevy Corsica. I thought it was the oil pump, but it turned out to be just the sensor that needed to be replaced.
The idling speed cannot be adjusted for fuel injected models. It is done by the ECU depending on inputs from various sensors. If the idling is erratic it is best if the car is taken to the vauxhall dealership who have testing equipment called TECH 2 which diagnoses the problem. I have the same problem. I believe the idle air control valve either needs to be cleaned or replaced.
BAd radiator cap, low coolant or (leaking), Bad thermostat, cooling fans not turning on.
too much fuel (unburned) getting into the exhaust. could be your oxygen sensor or catalyst converter. less likely, a leaking fuel injector
check the wires, if they are crossed up you get bad ilding. my aurora was idling around 1500 rpm's, but after having all the spark plugs and boots replaced it went back to around 600...see if that helps
unplug the TPS and see if it goes away if so it may need to be replaced
If your vehicle is idling high to low when its not moving, chances are you have an issue with the transmission. It may need to be replaced fully or simply fixed.
