2001 Ford Taurus wont start transaxle light is on it acted like it ran out of gas and now wont start at all?

If the car has a hard bang such as a cd Joint coming apart it may shut off the fuel system. The switch is on the passenger kick panel near the floor . It has a small door with a reset button.
