If your 2002 Grand Cherokee turn signal will not work, it is a good idea to check the fuses first. Then, check the bulb in the signal to see if that is lighting at all. Replace the fuse if it is blown.
check bulbs. then check fuses. right and left have seperate fuses. some have 2 fuses each. last resort is flasher relay. on 1999 grand cherokee it is located on the top of junction box in the center. remove access panel below steering wheel. cost $50 plus.
I had this same problem. Sometimes left turn signal would work and sometimes it wouldn't. I replaced all lights and the turn signal multifunction switch..this didnt fix problem. I finally replaced the turn signal flasher and this solved the problem. I got mine at NAPA auto parts. It cost about 40 dollars. Hope this helps.
There is a short in your system some where. check the fuses. and check the flasher but jeeps are notoris for eletrical problems
I had similar issues and just ended up replacing them (both) with Jeep replacements. Never had an issue afterwards.

They never made a 2002 jeep Cherokee (XJ) the production of it ended with the 2001 model. Are you talking about the grand Cherokee?
To replace a turn signal on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee prop the hood open. Locate the headlight housing and the turn signal will be located next to it. Find the bulb and remove it from the housing. Replace the bulb.
