Misfire! Replace the spark plugs, and plug wires. Do them one at a time as to not get confused.

2004 ford expolrer obd code PO316?

engine misfire

Have a 2004 ford F-150 with a 5.4L that has a PO316 and a PO302 obd fault code What might be a good starting place to look at for a solution to problem?

PO302 means a cylinder number two misfire has been detected. PO316 means the misfire was detected in the 1st 1000 revolutions. I would start with checking that spark plug to see if it is firing properly. A new plug costs much less than the coil which would be the next best guess. To determine if it is the coil take the coil from number 1 cylinder and swap it with the number 2. Start the engine and drive it around awhile. Check your codes again and if you have a PO301 then you know that is a bad coil. Your problem is either a bad plug, a bad coil or the plug boot. In rare cases you may have a faulty wire to the coil pack. Good luck.

Diagnostic trouble code PO303 PO316?

Trouble code P0303 means:Cylinder 3 misfire detected

2003 Ford Expedition has multiple codes PO174 PO307 PO308 PO316. No info is found online. Can someone help?

Assuming the trouble codes on a Ford Expedition would be the same as in a Ford Ranger, the codes mean: P0174 = System adaptive fuel too lean (Bank 2) P0307 and P0308 = My manual does not list these codes, but P0301 thru P0306 refer to misfire at cylinders 1 thru 6 detected. P0307 and P0308 may be cylinders 7 & 8. P0316 = Misfire occurred during first 1000 engine revolutions Info from Haynes Repair Manual #36071, 1993-2005 Ford Ranger Pick-ups sounds to me like two bad coil packs on 7 &8 cylinders try moveing the packs to oher cylinders to see if it afects them,if it does then you know there bad.9 times out of ten 174 is a vac leak more than likely around the egr& intake.the po316 sould go away after 307&308 are repaired.

Why is my 1999 ford expedition misfiring after replacing plugs and plug wires?

Have the same problem . codes po316 and po302 cyl mis fireing #2. Re placed coil over plug . replace injector. check injector with noid light for signal. check coil for primary signal..... all checks out.... Do a compression check or a leak down test. bad exhaust valve maybe . invest 2000.00 to have fixxed.

What happens if you ignore a bad cyl 6 misfire codes PO316 and P0306 How long can I let this go before getting fixed and what's the worst case scenario?

Depends on why it is missing. If it is just a bad plug or plug wire, the worse that can happen is a ruined O2 sensor or a ruined catalytic converter. Unburnt fuel entering the exhaust can damage both. If the miss if from a burnt valve same scenario. If the miss is because of a blown head gasket or cracked head then the engine can suffer severe damage. If you are loosing coolant with no apparent leak, suspect a blown head gasket. If you oil level is above full, ditto. If your exhaust smells sweet, ditto. Air bubbles coming from the radiator, ditto. At worst case you are only running on 5 cylinders. Aside from using a lot more gas, it probably won't do any great damage unless you are pulling trailers or driving up hills. You will need it fixed to pass a smog inspection.
