If the sparks are coming from the wires that fit onto the plugs change all spark plug leads. I can't understand how the engine is running at all.
I had this problem in my 325i 2004 US. it's means emission-system failure, this is written in PC as "Mixture .... ". you need to change sparks & Air-sensors (Under the car totally) Only. Rami

It just happen to me with a new battery and new sparks plugs. Believe or not check for oil going into the sparks plugs of the car, or check and change the fuel filter, the fuel pump itself can be another problem to look into. Good luck!
you have to take the center peice off the top of the engine.. part that says 2.2 ecotech and the plugs are located deep down inside there
if there is sparks u need to check and see it its coming from the plug wires that's about the only thing that can spark without blowing a fuse
Typically, it is going to be the gas valve. The system sends a 24 volt signal to the gas valve and it opens. I you are getting 24 vols to the gas valve and no gas, it will be the valve.

I'm hoping what you mean by "fire" is a spark to the distributor? Cause if your car is actually producing fireballs under your hood...well...that's a whole nother issue. Spark plugs...change them...then wires. Always remember when looking for a problem regarding ignition/sparks...check the spark plugs first, then the wires, cap, distributor, ignitor box, and finally ignition wiring which is the last thing you would want to be wrong hence the last thing you check ;) All in that order. If you have "coil packs" there will not be a set of wires/distributor/or distributor cap. If this is a " all of a sudden" problem it is probably your duraspark ignition module.
