During World War I, the three major battle fronts were as follows: the Western Front, stretching from the English Channel to the border of Switzerland; the Eastern Front, stretching from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea; and the Italian front along the border of Italy and Austria. Other fronts and theaters of operation were active, as well, including the naval campaigns, the Gallipoli front, and conflicts in the Middle East.

The battle of Ypres German's used chlorine gas for the first time

The Battle of the Somme -Allies bombarded German Trenches for seven days

Vimy Ridge -The ridge gave a view of the British lines for the Germans. Canadians won the battle and were seen as courageous and were well respected!!!!!

Passchendaele -battlefield was a march and swamp because of damaged drainage systems. Britain gained 6km. 15,654 Canadian soldiers died.
