First, the Ruger is not a German pistol, the Luger is. The weapon has a removable magazine- fill it with cartridges, place in the space in the butt of the pistol. Pull the toggle mechaism UP, which will draw the bolt to the rear. Release the toggle- bolt should go forward, loading a cartridge. Release the safety, aim, press trigger to fire.

1937. You can verify that date by removing the stock from the action and looking at the bottom of the barrel... it will be stamped "37".

Tell us as much as you can about it. Rifle, shotgun, or pistol? Action type? All I have is a note that it was produced in 1936 and 1937. Perhaps it is included in the Blue Book entry as a "submodel" of something else.

Post a detailed description at Pictures would also be good. the German DID NOT keep records pertaining to who a weapon was assigned to. your effort would be fruitless...................

Waffen Stadt, translated is "Army City". Or could be called City Army, kinda like the Us Army National Guard. It does NOT say Hitlers Army. His Army was the Waffen SS. The Olympics were in Berlin in 1936, so in 1937 this was a pistol match and nothing to say it was a championship. If it happened near The Eagles Nest, it could have been a competition at a place called Bad Tolz, north of Garmische.

The positive integer factors of 1937 are: 1, 13, 149, 1937
