85 Volvo 240 DL starts for 2 seconds and then stops fuses are good and you can here the fuel pump when it is running. If you give it a lot of gas it will keep running rough let off and it stops.?

Check the 240DL for fuel pressure and good ignition spark. The pressure could be low even though you hear the fuel pump. A problem with the ignition can cause this problem as well.
