2001 grand prix wont turn over keep trying and it kills the battery
Weak battery? Loose or corroded battery cables? Starter solenoid? Starter? Neutral Switch?
A charging system failure. You drove it on battery power only and it eventually went dead.
If the battery turns the engine over as it should then the battery is good.

It may still be the battery. If you just hear a click, it may be the starter is out. Make sure the battery is charged to the fullest. Sometimes the battery will have power but not enough to work the starter.

The alternator produces power to charge the battery. The battery powers the starter to turn the engine over.

It is going to be one of a few things. First thing to check is the battery terminals. Look for loose or corroded terminals at the battery. If after cleaning them with a wire battery terminal cleaner brush, and tightening them it still will not start, have the battery checked to see if it is good. If the battery is good, then have the starter checked.
The battery is used to start the car, and then the alternator takes over to keep the supply of power and to recharge the battery.
