Check the fuses...look for the biggest (highest amperage) fuse in the fusebox. If that's not it then you have a bad connection/wire in the starter/battery/alternator harness.
1997 olds achieva remove starter and wire plug got pulled out and we cant find where it goes? help?
Under car by where engine and transmission meet.
The problem is most likely a bad connection between the starter and the power source or a bad starter itself. Does the car make a clicking noise when you turn the key to the start position? Does the engine try to rotate over or rotate very slowly? Do the headlights/interior lights dim a lot when you try to crank it over?
Common hand tools.
It is likely that you have lost a master fuse or fusible link. The headlights are nearly always powered directly from the battery through a fusible link or large, under hood fuse.
On my 95 it is above the starter. it might be the same.
It could be a bad battery battery does not have enough power in it to make starter to work.
There is a simple test to check the battey. With the headlights on, try and start the car. If the headlights go out the battery is weak and should be replaced. If they stay on then suspect the starter is bad. Another thing it might be is the start relay or fuse. Refer to your owners manual for the specific location of these items.

disconnect the battery then You have to pull the air breather off the top take out the radiator fan in the front of the car then you can take the two starter bolts out. Disconnect the starter wires and you can pull the starter out from the top.
there is no fuse for the headlights. Could be many reasons. Start with the fusible links down by the starter.
the low pressure port is under the car in front of the starter... took me forever to find it.
