Foresters from MY06 require automatic transmission fluid type J This fluid only appears to be available from 2 companies at present. Castrol Transmax J and Havoline ATF J

Standard or automatic? Standards are fairly bullet proof. Just doesn't move or go in gear? Probably the clutch disc is either worn out or the face of the disc blew off. Automatic. Check to see if the transmission fluid smells and appears burnt. Is it full if not burnt? Look to see if the shifter is connected and working at the transmission. Should be able to see the shift arm on top of the transmission.
A clunking noise when shifting gears on a K1500 automatic transmission, might mean a problem with the drive axle or drive shaft. Check all U-Joints to make sure they are working properly.
So that the Car appears more 'user friendly" to the potential buyer. Many people either Can't or very much dislike driving in a manual transmission vehicle. Not ALL cars in commercials are Automatic. Would you really be interested in purchasing an automatic Sports Car?
It means the fuel is low. No it doesn't! It means that there a Fault with the automatic transmission. As it says in the manual, when this F appears it indicates a serious problem with the automatic transmission electronics and you should get it seen to asap. THIS means there is a fault and in 9 out of 10 cases it is a faulty crank shaft sensor as i have just replaced one the cost is about £9 and a easy fix it is located next to the oil sump
Non-functional Automatic Transmission
Our Kia has an automatic transmission, on the side of the shift lever there is a button. when going uphill you can push this button and it keeps the transmission from shifting out. When this is engaged hold appears on the instrument panel. Hope this helps.
A flexplate is used in automatic transmissions while a flywheel is used in manual transmissions. The 2000 GMC Jimmy SLS appears to have a manual transmission, so it uses a flywheel.
One would need the owners manual to cross reference. It is usually a 1 for manual and a 2 for automatic. One just has to find the position of the number on the vin serial(it is usually the second number that appears.)
This switch is located on the very front of the transmission. To see it you'll need to get underneath the car, look right behind the rad support panel. On my car there is a metal cover or plate, limiting access to it. This cover appears easy to remove ie; some bolts.
probably sucking transmission fluid through a broken diaphragm on transmission modulator. look for a vaccuum hose going from carburetor or throttle body area down to an external pod like device mounted on the transmission.
