If your car revs up without shifting and misfires, it could be a clogged catalytic converter. If the computer senses too much back-pressure it won't shift. Since the Clean Air Act requires an 8 yr / 80,000 mi warranty on cats, I'd recommend having this check out before you spend money on the transmission.

you pull the engine and tranny out. pull them apart. remove the clutch on a manual or the torque converter on an automatic. then remove and replace the rear main. it's located on the shaft that went into the tranny.

? Not sure, I do not think there is a filter for the automatic or manual. If is it the 3.0 V6 the tranny filter is located inside the tranny(internal filter). Requires disassembly to replace. I just change the fluid every 20,000.
change engine, tranny, and diff fluids. replace all belts and hoses. replace spark plugs. check/replace brake pads/shoes. valve job if necessary.
Converting from the stock auto to the stock AX15 tranny is no problem. It uses the same mounts and everything.
