Hmmm.... it seems unlikely that both low beam elements would fail at the same time, but it's possible. Replacing the headlight lamps is cheap and easy and would be my first attempt at fixing the problem. Is your DRL indicator on the dash flashing? They'll do that when the lamp(s) burn out.
Since the DRL's AND the low beams don't work, I wouldn't suspect the headlight switch, however this is not beyond the realm of reason.
Does the car have fog lights? I have a 2003 Sunfire that the high beams would not work on. This was caused by a short in the fog light wiring. I had the fog lights rewired separate from the harness (about $100) and the problem was fixed.
you must have a blowed fuse.
fluids are fine, no codes, and it wont shift past 2nd gear. any help?
try replacing the flasher. there should be two, one for flashers and one for turn signals
check your fues
The Fuel pump is in the gas tank.. You will need to drop the tank to fine the fuel pump..
These lights have 2 different "lights" in each of them. This occurs frequently. Change out the bulb and everything will be working fine once again.
I have the exact same year, model etc. The high beam doesn't have a switch.. You pull the blinker switch towards you. That is how high beams work on this car. The slider bar located near the lights dims and brightens the dash board lights.
what i did for a ground on my girlfriends 96 sunfire was in the trunk there are hooks that hold the cargo net and the carpet down. unscrew it and just place the ground cable in between the bolt and where it will be screwed into that works fine.
most any brake fluid which is DOT approved should be fine. Be sure to use a new, unopened container.
Do your headlights work? High beams more specifically? If that answer is yes, then the bulbs are fine. DRLs are nothing more than a lower voltage being sent to the high beams in the Sunfires. (They use 9007 HB5 bulbs, which is a dual filament. highs and lows in one bulb). IF the LOW beams work, but not the high, try new bulb. Otherwise its off to try and find that relay... which is a pain in the ass. Personally, I pulled my relay out and never put it back in (I have HIDs in the car now).
I have had this problem on my girlgfriends car. Check the wiring running to the lights behind the drivers side headlight under the battery box. The wires were sealed with duct tape from the factory and the connections have just corroded. It's actually a pretty easy fix but dont put it off too long because you eventually wont have lights at all. .
