it could be your spark plug wiring or distributer cap. Also need to check your PCM monitor.

2008 malibu 3.6 L code says PO302 misfiring Misfiring in number 2 cylinder. Could be an ignition problem with a bad spark plug or spark plug wire. Could also be a bad fuel injector. Could also be a mechanical problem such as a bad valve. Start with new plugs and wires.

User Avatar

If the problem followed the fuel injector then it is a bad injector. If the problem stayed at the same hole with a different injector then it could be bad wiring.

User Avatar

No it is not a fuel pump problem. It either has a grounded are open circurt. Check wiring to injector. May just be a bad INJECTOR.

The correct possessive form of the plural noun mechanics is mechanics', as in your question.Example: Both mechanics' opinion of the problem was different.

User Avatar

the harness could be bad on that injector chech to see if its firing and if it is then the injector is bad

User Avatar

Try checking fuel injector that is what the problem was with mine after checking everything else i replaced injector an fixes the problem

Bad spark plug? Bad wire to plug? Bad ignition coil if COP (Coil On Plug) type? Bad valve? Bad piston? Bad injector?

User Avatar

You need to figure out why the #2 cylinder is misfiring Bad plug? Bad wire? Bad coil? Computer just miss read a pot hole as a misfire? Serious engine internal problem? Faulty fuel injector?

User Avatar

my guess is spark plug problem or distributor box

If it is just one injector, it is a bad injector or a problem in the wiring harness or connector for that injector. If it is all of the injectors, it could be a fuse, the entire injector harness, a broken loose or unplugged connector on the injector harness, or the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator.

Your Subaru is misfiring when it reaches 1 bar because it has a mechanical problem.

User Avatar

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a bad solenoid on the fuel injector. Required the replacement of the entire fuel injector. After that, the problem was solved.

User Avatar

Pull it out and look at the spray pattern.

Moisture in the COP (coil over plug) boot/assembly, bad coil, bad plug, bad injector, poor fuel pressure, poor cylinder compression. Or damaged coil boot causing the coil to flash over.

User Avatar

Have the same problem . codes po316 and po302 cyl mis fireing #2. Re placed coil over plug . replace injector. check injector with noid light for signal. check coil for primary signal..... all checks out.... Do a compression check or a leak down test. bad exhaust valve maybe . invest 2000.00 to have fixxed.

User Avatar

Peak injector current has not been reached (non-turbo) or a problem with an injector circuit (turbo). Check the injector(s) and electrical harnesses.

User Avatar

First thing to do is replace the plugs and wires if you have not done so. It you have or if replacing them does not fix the problem then have a compression test run.

User Avatar

Your Subaru is misfiring when reaching the first bar because of the problem with the ignition coil.

on the fire wall under relay center this is the fuel pump fuse injector fuse is in the fuse block injector a if any at all what is the problem any whay.

Are you sure you are changing injector #7? Should be the injector closest to the firewall on the drivers side. If you are changing the correct injector, and the code remains, the problem is with the wiring from the injector to the pcm (computer) or the computer itself. You can check for correct battery voltage at the injector with a volt/ohm meter (how does the connector look at the injector?). This year of Durango/Dakota had trouble with computers too, although I have not heard of specific injector trouble being caused by the computer. Most likely a wiring problem. It may even be the TPS

antifreeze is most common problem related to petrol engines misfiring. this can be cured by replacing the timing belt in addition to the thermostat and coolant temperature sensor. this will remedy 95% of misfire problems on most modern cars.

User Avatar

possible problems are: The fuse is blown, or the injector is bad, or the wiring to the injector is bad, or the computer is bad

Hi, I'm having the same problem! My car is currently at the mechanics. They can't understand what wrong with it, Will post report tomorow. Hi everyone! The results are in! It's the number one injector, And cost $450aud second hand:( It has all this electronic stuff on it, and controls the other 3 injectors and the flow from the injector pump.

User Avatar

Most common cause of that is, Bad spark plug/plugs or plug wires, I think you will find your problem in that area.

Injector pressure sensor system performance problem.
