If the magnitudes of the two forces are in the same direction add. Net = 10 N + 15 N = 25 N. The net force acting on any object is the vector sum of all the forces. If the two forces are in EXACTLY the same direction the net force will be the sum of the two acting in the same direction (as shown above). If they are in EXACTLY the opposite direction, the net force will be 5N in the direction of the 15N force. If they are acting at exactly 90o to each other, the net force will be 18.028...N in the direction 33.7...o from the larger force and 56.3o from the smaller.

5N southward, but it depends on the friction that the force which is pulling has. For example, if a person pulled with rubber shoes 10N and another 15N with socks, then the person with rubber shoes would still pull towards him

Fnet=Force1+Force2

Fnet=15+(-10)

Fnet=5 southward

Let us say that upward is positive, so 10 => +10

then 15 => -15

The sum of forces (aka Net force) => (+10 ) + (-15) = 10 - 15 = (-5)

The minus sign means (whatever it means on the drawing, so down is negative)

answer: 5 N dn.

because the forces are in the opposite direction the net force = 35 - 10 = 25 N in the direction of the 35 N force.

What does unbalanced force do to an object?

The forces cause the object to move in the direction of the net force. If there are two unbalanced forces in opposite directions, the object will go in the direction of the stronger force.

Can equal forces in opposite direction change an objects motion?

If the force is acting in the opposite direction to the movement, the object will slow down and then accelerate in the direction of the force. Negative for

What will happen if two unbalanced forces are exerted in opposite direction?

The object move in the direction of the object having more force

What happens to a moving object when there are unbalanced forces acting on it and the bigger force is in the opposite direction to the movement?

Since the opposite force is the strongest the object will tend to change direction of the object.Thats one of the effects of force.

What is the force that atcs in an opposite direction to the motion of a moving object?

Friction always acts in a direction opposing the motion of an object.

Type of force can cause an object to change direction?

Any force will cause change in velocity (speed and/or direction)if it isn't canceled by an equal, opposite force.

When two forces act on an object in opposite directions and the object moves will it move in the direction of the smaller or greater force?

Greater force

What happens when two equal force act on a object?

The object doesn't move in either of the two directions. I am learning about this in sci., two equal forces equal one big force pushing upon an object moving in the opposite direction. It depends on the direction of the individual forces, if in opposite direction then as per the first answer, if in the same direction then the force is equal to the sum of the forces. If tangental then a vector is produced, that is an angle to the two forces

Action reaction force pairs act on what?

All Forces! For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object. The direction of the force on the first object is opposite to the direction of the force on the second object. Forces always come in pairs - equal and opposite action-reaction force pairs"

If 2 force act on the object in the same or opposite directions what willbe the net force of the object in 2 cases?

There is no net force OF the object. If the forces act in the same direction, the net force is magnitude of the net force is the sum of the forces and acts in the same direction. If the forces act in opposite directions, the magnitude of the net force will be the difference between their magnitudes and it will act in the direction of the larger of the two forces.

If the forces on an object is balanced what does it tell you about the size and direction of the force?

It tells us that the sizes of forces are equal and directions of forces are opposite.

What two forces act in opposite directions, the object will alternate in the same direction as the___________ force.?
