A Chevy caprice classic 94-96 they came with a 4.3 265 v8 a 5.7 350 v8 how can you tell the difference in motor just by looking at it?
TO KNOW YOUR ENGINE SIZE, IF IT IS A WAGON IT HAS A 5.7 350 IF IT IS A 4 DOOR Sedan It Has a 265.
The 265 Is A Small Engine. If you can't tell the difference, write dow the VIN#, which is on the Bill Of Sale and on the dash of the car. It will be a 17 character & number format. You can give this number to the Chevy Parts Department in your area, or have the dealer look at it.
The answer is the eighth digit on vin# P is 5.7 and W is 4.3 Vin # is located at the bottom corner driver side windshield. Both look the same, its whats inside makes the difference. Also most if not all 4.3's had single exhaust from factory.
