The Qiyas is the process of comparing reasoning within the teachings of the Quran and the Hadith. Example : In order to make a comparison with a known ruling (nass) to a new ruling. As a result of this method, the ruling of the Sunna and the Quran may be used as a means to solve or provide a response to a new problem that may arise. Therefore Qiyas means comparing one thing with another similar thing.

The main source is Quran. but Quran needs interpretation. prophet Muahammad SAWW said I leave for you two heavi things. the Quran and my Ahl al Bayt. this hadith is called the hadith of two weighty things. for correctly understanding of Quran the interpretations of Ahl al Bayt about Quran is needed as well as Quran itself. no one unless the fourteen infallibles know the true interpretations of Quran and they never said "I do not know" in their life in answering the questions of people about Quran and they are mentioned in Quran as: ask the people of knowledge if you do not know (Quran, Nahl, 43). they have divine knowledge of everything from God. but dictators during history did not let them to be known by people to prevent protest of people against their kingdom and killed them or kept them in prison. an example is killing of Imam Hussain a.s. at Karbala by order of Yazid.
