You use his political appointments to disenfranchise millions of voters, then allow the supreme court justices your father appointed to name you the president. Or, you could just win the electoral college.

∙ 9y agoThe total popular vote can be won by a presidential candidate who loses the election because of the electoral college. Each state is allowed a certain number of votes in the electoral college based upon its population. Therefore, states with larger populations carry more weight than less populous states.
