Chemical bonds are the force of attraction between two atoms. when they combine and form a molecule, they become a new substance with properties similar to that of the "parent" substances. Different amounts of different elements form different substances. You see, when a boy atom likes a girl atom.... just kidding.

chemical bond is actually the force of attraction between two atoms (same element or of different elements) which binds them together in the form of a molecule or compound.

before answering your question which forces atoms to what i wud like to tell you that an atom consists of positive charges and negative charges.for a chemical bond to be formed the forces of attraction must be dominant to the forces of repulsion.

A chemical bond forces atoms to form chemical substances. The bond is caused by the electrostatic force of attraction between opposite charges.

Is force of attraction that holds atoms together is called chemical bond?

The force of attraction that holds two atoms together is called a(n) chemical bond

Is a chemical bond a force or a chemical?

Molecules are composed of two or more atoms linked together. The attractive forces that link these atoms together are called chemical bonds. The same idea is with forces , except on a larger scale. Forces link MOLECULES to MOLECULES. Bonds link ATOMS to ATOMS.

What is the formation of chemical bond from separated atoms?

always exothermic

What is a cobalent bond?

A covalent bond is a chemical bond between atoms that share electrons. It is the stable balance of the attractive and repulsive forces and the result of sharing of electron pairs between the atoms.

What happens to energy when a chemical bond forms and what happens to energy when a chemical bond is broken?

During formation of bond, the atoms come close, then their are two possibilities 1. The force of attraction between electron of one atom and the nucleus of the other atom and the electron of the other atom attracts the nucleus of the another atom. This attractive forces lowers the potential energy of the two atoms and their are chances of bond formation. 2.There are also repulsive forces between nucleus-nucleus and electron-electron,which increases the potential energy. But as the attractive forces are dominant over the repulsive forces, therefore atoms come close and lower the energy of atoms forming bond.... During the formation of bond the potential energy of the atoms decreased.

Forces that hold atoms together are called?

They are chemical bonds varying in strength. The strong nuclear force holds atoms together. Electro-static forces hold molecules together. (The positive and negative forces of the electrons and protons create an attraction that keep the atom together.)

What kind of chemical bond is formed when atoms share electrons?

When atoms share electrons, they form a chemical bond, or covalent bond.

What atoms do not forn a chemical bond?

All atoms can form a chemical bond at very specific energy levels.

How is a chemical bond defined?

A chemical bond is any of several forces or mechanisms, especially the ionic bond, covalent bond, and metallic bond, by which atoms or ions are bound in a molecule or crystal. There are two types of chemical bonds mainly, these are the ionic and covalent bonds. The ionic bonds are formed between metals and non metals whereas the covalent bonds are formed between non metals.A chemical bond is an attraction between two different atoms.

How does bonding work in chemistry?

There are many types of chemical bonds. An ionic bond is a chemical bond in which an electron is transfered from one atom to another. The atoms are then held together by opposite elctric charges. A colvalent bond in a chemical bond in which an electron is shared between two atoms. Also reference van der waals forces and hydrogen bonding.

What is meant by the term chemical bond?

These are the Van der Waals bonds.

What is a connection between 2 atoms called?

The connection between two atoms is chemical bond. This is used in science.
