With rubber motor mounts.
I have an air bubble in my in ground swimming pool system.......how does one get the air out. ? Can you open top off motor when running motor to add water to prime motor???
The motor winding has gone to ground internally. The ability of the motor to shock you is caused by the ground wire missing or not connected. It is this ground wire that trips the breaker in short circuit conditions and disconnects the motor from the distribution system.
check the ground on the motor they will corrode it is on one of the mounting bolts
Attach a wire with a terminal loop to one of the mounting bolts on the blower motor attach the other end to any unpainted metal part in the engine compartment
You have a bad ground wire to the motor. Locate and repair it or just add a ground wire from the motor housing to the mounting bolt.
Typically this points to a defective blower motor resistor.
Work you way from the blower motor first by checking that it has both power and ground and then check the rest of the electrical system............
Wiper Motor and Linkage, Removal and Installation1.Open hood and remove wiper arms2.Remove cowl top plastic cover.3.Remove attaching screws or mounting nuts from pivots.4.Disconnect wiper motor wiring harness connector.5.Remove 3 motor mounting bracket-to-body bolts.6.Remove motor bracket, motor and linkage assembly from cowl. - 7.Remove motor-to-bracket mounting bolts and remove motor. - 8.Reverse procedure to install
The resistance depends on how big the motor is. A small motor (less then 2-3 kW) , have greater resistance than a bigger one. Typically small motors have from 10 - 20 ohms to a few ohm. A 13 kWatt motor have typically 1-2 Ohm. A big 400 KWatt's motor have typically 10 milli ohms between the phases.
american cars
On any vehicle the first thing to do before replacing a starter motor would be to disconnect the battery cables, then raise the vehicle safely off the ground , hopefully by means of a car luft, locate the starter motor and remove the mounting bolts(2 or 3 bolts ) hold it to the engine housing then remove the wire or wires to the solenoid, reverse proceedure to install.
A motor is grounded with a lug in the motor's junction box. The ground wire in the supply cable is connected to this point. This lug grounds the whole motor frame so if a fault to ground occurs, the fault current will return to the distribution panel where the motor's supply breaker will trip and open the circuit.
