The opening chapter of The Bible begins with the story of The Creation. On the first day, God created light and separated the light from the darkness, calling light as "day" and darkness as "night." On the second day, God created an expanse to separate the waters and called it "sky." On the third day, God created dry ground and gathered the waters, calling the dry ground as "land," and the gathered waters as"seas." On day three, God also created vegetation On the fourth day, God created the sun, moon, and the stars to give light to the earth and to govern and separate the day and night. These would also serve as signs to mark season, days, and years. On the fifth day. God created every living creature of the seas and every winged bird, blessing them to multiply and fill the waters and the sky with life. On the sixth day, God created the animals to fill the earth. God also created man and woman and was names as Adam and Eve in his own image to commune with him. He blessed them and gave them every creature and the whole earth to rule over, care for, and cultivate. On the seventh day, God had finished his work of creation and so he rested on the seventh day, blessing it and making it holy. Lord God is our father and He is the creator of everything.

When the topic sentence is last it is called a inverted triangle. The point being the topic, and the base being anything backing up the topic.

Where can you find the topic sentence in the second paragraph?

Usually the topic sentence is the first sentence in a paragraph. The topic sentence makes a statement about some topic and the rest of the paragraph explains the topic sentence or gives examples of the topic sentence. For example if this was the topic sentence There are three living species of Kiwi all of which inhabit New Zealand. Then this paragraph would probably tell us what the three species are and where they live in NZ.

How are topic paragraphs like mini-essays?

An essay has a theme, supporting paragraph separated by transitions and a conclusion. In a topic paragraph, there is a main sentence (the topic sentence) which functiosn as the theme of the paragraph. There are usually several sentences that suport that topic sentence, just like in an essay, and a good topic paragraph will usually end with transition to the next topic paragraph. Some topic paragraphs may also have concluding statements.

Where do you usually find a topic sentence of a paragraph?

A topic sentence is usually the first sentence of any paragraph, but it can be elsewhere, such as the end of a paragraph. Paul Harvey's tales deliberately place the topic sentences at the end to build suspense. For instance, he spoke about a Black woman who tried to be a CBS newscaster but was unable to contain her emotions during the broadcasts. The network tried to give her a new image and put her on a morning show since they still had a contract to honor. But they mistakenly sent her to a beautician who knew nothing about African-American hair, and tried to give her a relaxer. So she was bald for a while. The ratings improved greatly, and when the show ended, this woman went on to start and eventually produce her own talk show. After Paul Harvey's classical line, "Now for the rest of the story," he mentioned that he was discussing Oprah Winfrey. So a writer or speaker may place a paragraph's topic sentence at the end for dramatic emphasis.

Examples of a pyramid form of a topic sentence?

A topic sentence is the main concept of your writing, it can be used anywhere within a paragraph. If used at the start of a paragraph it gives general idea of the writing. If used in the intermediate section of the paragraph it lets you shape an idea and then build upon it. If used at the end of a paragraph it lets you conclude with your final idea.

In the concluding paragraph the clincher sentence is to do what?

Yes, the clincher sentence is the summary of the whole paragraph and the last sentence. You are supposed to indent the clincher sentence. You can use signal words too in your paragraph and clincher sentence. As clincher sentence comes at the end, there is a topic sentence which comes at the beginning. How do you right a topic sentence?

Well, you start with a topic. A topic sentence is usually at the beginning or end of a paragraph, but i recommend at the beginning. if i write the paragraph, Nancy wanted to practice to be a nurse. She read books about about nursing and looked online. She even joined a community college to try it. So as you read the paragraph the first sentence is the topic sentence. The other sentences are detail sentences. To write a topic sentence always start with a topic first. if your topic is about a question like "How did the penny react when it was in the vinegar?" start with answering the question first. for example: How the penny reacted in the vinegar is that it ________________________. <list the other detail sentences in the other sentences over here> After the detail sentences end with a conclusion for the answer , for instance: In conclusion, these are reasons how the penny reacted in the vinager.
