  1. Long difficult,uncertain process to win the nomination. Must be able to take extensive time off from work, or else be independently wealthy,
  2. Long tiring campaign with no certainty of success.
  3. Loss of private life. Cannot go anywhere w/o bodyguards. Still some danger.
  4. No matter how well you do, a large number of people will hate you, make up lies and draw unflattering Cartoons.
  5. Job is extremely difficult. Easy to mess up, make wrong choices, say something unwise. If you do, the press will constantly bring it up.
