After being off for 5 weeks due to on the job ankle injury my employeer took me off of modified and laid you off. My ankle is still swollen and im still getting tests done is this right?
What can I do after coming off Workers Comp after spraining my ankle and my boss laid me off as he doesn't have any worker for me, but he is keeping the temp that he hired while I was off injured.
Is workman's comp supposed to cover the loss of wages due to an on the job injury although they say they would offer modified work on certain shifts but fail to do so?
If the injury is swollen, apply some frozen peas, or ice, something cold anyway. If you know or think it is sprained go to A+E or your doctor. If in pain take ibuprofen or paracetamol. Whatever you do, if it is swelling or swollen, do NOT put a tight support bandage on, this will swell over and cause a lot of pain.
In the Jaw Thrust maneuver, the head is tilted back in order to facilitate opening the airway. The Modified Jaw Thrust is similar except there is no tilting of the head back. The rescuer/clinician should attempt to anteriorly position the lower jaw without moving the rest of the head. One should use the Modified Jaw Thrust in cases where a cervical spine injury is suspected.
Sutures are medical treatment beyond first aid. Therefore, if the other aspects of the injury meet the definition of an OSHA Recordable event, getting sutures makes the even recordable. Never rely on advice in a forum such as WikiAnswers when determining recordability. Always consult a sepcialist who is familiar both with the relevant OSHA regulations and the specifics of the injury and particular workplace.
