well i had the same problem on my 1997 Jeep country and the problem was that there is a fuse in the fuse box under you hood that should be labled IOD and that is the fuse that controls all the controls on your dash..i replaced that one in my jeep and everything worked just fine..if not that then somthing electrical prolly
The gauge has failed.
The speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge will not be working on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee if the fuse has been blown. Alternatively, the wiring can become disconnected.
speedo has a wire from behind and it snaps loose sometimes. disassemble the dash and reattach it
93 tranny is electronic if your speedo isn't working it won't shift into 3 or OD. Your speed sensor is more than likely the problem.
The odometer unit has failed and will need replaced.
If the temperature gauge is not working, one thing it could be besides the gauge itself is a blown fuse. Another possibility is a loose or broken wire on the gauge.Ê
The speedometer on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee may stop working if the cable is loose or the gauge is damaged. Re-seating and tightening all connections can help resolve this issue.
Pull the speedo and gauge package out of dash. Unhook wiring. Remove speedo cable from speedometer. Pull speedo cable out of housing, lube it lightly and re-insert. Hook everything back up and re-install gauges. Pull the speedo and gauge package out of dash. Unhook wiring. Remove speedo cable from speedometer. Bad sending unit in tank.
the fuel gauge is incorporated inside the speedo meter in the super bug.
Possibilities... I'd be looking for a wiring fault or a fault in the CECU or mismatched programming between the CECU and the instrument cluster node.
A 1990 Jeep Cherokee malfunctioning fuel gauge can be caused by a broken ground wire. The gauge will not function if the fuel float in the fuel tank is broken.
fuel gauge not working
What do you want to know?
It's either the speedometer gear in the tranny, the speedo cable that runs to the gauge, or the gauge itself in your dash. Either way it'll be a pain. The way I check is to remove the gauge in the dash and move the truck, if the cable spins ok, then you know it's the gauge. Best of luck.
It's the gauge in the car/motorbike/whatever that tells you how fast you're going.
Sounds like the speedo cable may have snapped www.mr2-ben.co.uk Toyota mr2 mk2 New & Used parts
No. The speed sensor is located on the transmission, and is what drives the speedometer cable, which drives the speedo head. The speedo head is another name for the the speedometer, which is the display gauge that you see while sitting in the car.
buy a new viburam for the back of the fuel gauge on the speedo. It is a heat element that reads the sending unit in the tank
most likely the gauge
The cluster is the part that includes the speedo, odometer, fuel gauge, etc...
why would a speedometer stop working on a Mazda
We need to know which gauge stopped working.
I'm pretty sure they are cable driven. Often the plastic gear that the speedo cable plugs into in the gauge will wear out and fail. But before assuming that, check the cable itself. If isn't broken than it's probably the gauge in the cluster.
