No. The Pit Bull is a recognized breed in the U.S. Due to their mis-handling, mis-use and mis-training by some people and the unfortunate reputation the breed has received in the media, they have received 'bad press' all out of proportion to their real threat to the general population. SOME jurisdictions DO have laws that apply to the breed but they are not universal, and the breed is legal in the US.
