Both Dan and Phil try to stay away from questions like that to keep peace on there channels, but the last we know of is a video of Dan saying they were not in a relationship (the video is from 2011)

Phil Lester is not gay, but like his companion Dan, he is (as far as we know) bisexual. Dan is not particularly open about it, as well as Phil, I had to do some digging to find an old website Dan used saying he was bisexual, and answered questions along the same theme. Phil made an OkCupid profile for a video he was in, and then decided to use it afterwards (the same goes for Dan, as they were in the video together). He filled in his sexual orientation as bisexual with his current age, so supposedly he still is. Before their channels became as popular as they are now, Dan and Phil may have had some sort of thing, and expressed their closeness in earlier videos. They recieved hate from being supposedly "gay" for eachother, which made them somewhat angry and Dan made a post about how he used to be closer with Phil in videos but had to limit it to reduce rumors. Dan (and a little bit Phil) was cyber bullied via twitter by Phil's supposed ex Charlie Skies, saying things criticizing his sexual orientation. Whether or not he really is Phil's ex, we will never know - all we know is that he disrupts the Phandom. If he in fact is Phil's ex boyfriend, he may have cyber bullied Dan out of jealousy for Phil. A lot of our questions will not be answered besides these, but Dan and Phil tend to ignore the sexual oriented questions to keep peace. I feel it's best to respect their wishes of keeping that part of their life shielded from the public. If they ever decide to be open about it, we should support them in anything they decide.
