Some cite published studies and claim that GMO foods are safe, but many of those studies have been done by or heavily influenced by the creators of the GMO varieties. Biotech also seems to have a strong influence on government regulatory agencies and gives large amounts of donations to politicians. Some doctors also claim to have taken their patients off foods that contain GMOs and their health has improved. Some long-term studies have shown issues with GMOs, but those studies have been questioned by a large percentage of scientists.
