Somalia has a lot of problems at the moment because the government is not very strong, so many people are taking the law into their own hands. Gangs of pirates are setting out from the Somali coast and extorting money from ship owners.

Other countries are trying to support the present government till it becomes strong enough to take back control of the whole country.

So long as you have no issues with pirates, warlords, Sharia law, and general civil unrest then no. Keep in mind that Somalia has been a seat of unrest since the start of their civil war in about 1991. The government was fractured and the country was largely in anarchy. While during the past couple of years the new Federal Government of Somalia has been trying to rebuild the country, the TFG (Transitional Federal Government) that was established in 2004 has been fighting against increasingly fractioning groups such as Al-Shabaab, a splinter of Al-Qaeda, from the beginning. Al-Shabaab still has a major influence in Somalia, which makes traveling there or even near the nation, very dangerous for westerners.
