A dog can also act aggressive out of intense fear, nervousness, or if it believes that it is the dominant animal in the human-dog relationship and feels it has to protect its master against other humans or animals, regardless whether they're strangers or not. Dogs can also become aggressive if they have been abused and harassed to the point they feel they have to attack first before they get hurt or bothered.
ANY breed can be aggressive, not just pit bulls, dobermans, german shepherds, rottweilers, or mastiffs. Even little toy dogs like yorkies or Chihuahuas can be nasty if abused, neglected or spoiled rotten. Dogs like labradors, border collies and golden retrievers can also be aggressive due to reasons stated above. Thus, dog aggression is primarily and ultimately the fault of the human, never the breed.
