Insect cells are eukaryotic.

Eukaryotic cells are defined by membrane bound organelles, the most prominent being the nucleus.

Prokaryotic cells are defined by the lack of membrane bound organelles. The only organisms that are prokaryotic are bacteria and archebacteria.

Butterflies have eukaryotic cells. All multicellular organisms consist of eukarotic cells and since butterflies are multicellular, they have eukaryotic cells. Eukaryotic cells, are more complex cells, with membrane bound organisms and a membrane bound nucleus. While prokaryotic cells are more simplistic and act as the whole organisms, in cases such as bacteria.
