The lion is not the king of the jungle because the lion doesn't live in the jungle. Lions live in the prairies or Savannah grasslands. They don't live in heavy forests or jungles or deserts because of lack of food.

Lions don’t live in jungles as they evolved as social animals and are Β« equiped Β» for pack hunting. They are the king of the savannah if you want.

Lions aren't king of the jungle at all, since they don't live there. Lions live on mostly open grasslands.

Tigers live in Forests and would fit much better as "king of the jungle".

They are known to be, but this is only a name for them as no lion ( apart from the occasional mountain lion) lives in a forest, or a jungle.
