Why are pigs different colors?

I am a member of 4-H which raises livestock for market or breeding and i do the swine project .... There is no such thing as a pink pig they are white they just look pink cuz you can see there blood through there skin sorta....There are red pigs,white pigs , black pigs with 6 white points and black pigs with a white belt <3

yes it can be pink but it get also be brown and black no, there is no such thing as a pink pig. it may look pink but that is because the sikn is not thick enough to not show the blood under the skin.the pig you see is white not pink.

There are several breeds of domestic pig and not all are pink. The skin under the darker hair is darker and people preferred pork with uniform skin (before meat was as processed as it is now) so to supply that demand, farmers bred lighter colored pigs.

Yes, because the actual skin is white but it is pink because the blood goes through their skin so the blood comes out pink due to the skin making it bright and show less color of blood.
