Depending on you & your child's age, where you live, city or country, house or apartment. How much time you have for exercising your dog. Just being in a kennel or being tied outside, does not count as exercise.
Getting a dog is not a decision to be taken lightly. They give us undying love & ask for nothing in return. We owe it to them to treat them well.

Visit the SPA or SPCA ( depending on where you live ).
The dogs there are in desperate need of homes.
Their lives depend on it.

If its an adult dog that was not trained to be well with children, it might want to attack them. but if its a puppy, you can train it to love the child and not be mean. most people think that pit bulls and rottweilers are all mean. this is not true because its the owner that might be mean and train to be that way. all depends on the training of the dog

∙ 12y agoThey can be, if taken to puppy classes at an early age and with on going socialisation and training. However if you have small children I wouldn't recommend this breed because of their size, they can be very boisterous and stubborn. Also because of the increase of attacks highlighted by the press a lot of parents will not let their children play at your home because you have a rottweiler, resulting in your kids missing out on their friends.

there is a huge diffarence between the German rottweiler and the English rottweiler and that is because, THE GERMAN ROTTWEILER is shorter but all muscles and they have a giant massave head, they are more trainable, loyal, smart, good around children, and protective. i would recomend getting a German rottweiler if you were thinking about it. they get 100 to 170 lbs. they are 26 to 30 inches for males and females are 23 to 28 inches. there is just so much more about the German rottweiler that is 100 times better then the American rottweiler.
