Depending on the type of pyramid, it varies. Most pyramid types (including square, rectangle, octagonal, etc. pyramids) do not have congruent bases and faces, though some may have a few similar faces. Only one pyramid, the triangular pyramid, has a triangle for the base and all of the faces, which are congruent.

What is the same about a prism and a pyramid?

The number of faces determines the bases' shape.

What is the face of a prism or pyramid that is not the base?

Lateral Face - In a prism, the faces that are not bases. In a pyramid, faces that intersect at the vertex.

What is the sum of the faces an bases of an octagonal pyramid?

How many sides faces and vertex does a pyramid has?

A pyramid is a generic term. There are pyramids with triangular bases, square or rectangular or quadrilateral bases, pentagonal base and so on. A pyramid whose base is a polygon with n sides has n+1 sides (which are the same thing as faces), and n+1 vertices.

What shape are all the faces of a triangular pyramid?

What are the bases of a triangular pyramid?

Any one of the four triangular faces.

A pyramid has how many faces and sides?

A rectangular pyramid has five faces. Sides are the same things as faces. A pyramid with a triangular base has 4 faces. This is the more common type of pyramid in mathematics, as it is a platonic solid.

Does a pyramid have at least two congruent parallel bases?

Not true. They have only one base and several (3 or more) lateral triangular faces. A pyramid has a single vertex over a base - there are no parallel faces in any pyramid.
