beagles are a kind breed of dog. they get along with most other dogs, cats, and children. they are known to be a very family friendly pet. no they are calm and so no they are a perfect family pets ----------------------------------------------------------- Beagles are calm, relaxed and very easy going. However during the puppy ages they like to bite more than other dogs, (while they are teething). They don't mind being pet but since they are hunters DO NOT STICK YOUR FACE QUICKLY INTO THEIRS, (as with any dog), they won't bite, but they will growl and lung for your face. -Paws40 no not at all i have one and he is really placid and loves being around children and other dogs and dosent care about cats at all -calrufc

∙ 14y agoWell it all depends on how they are bought up. If they are trained to be aggresive as a pup and dont have proper training then they can be aggresive. I happen to own a beagle myself and I am a fan of the breed. And I have never met a aggresive beagle.

Actually they're for the most part super submissive.
I guess there's a bad apple in every bunch but I've never seen one become aggressive.
(They are stubborn as hell though!)

While not an aggressive breed, and in fact known as being so docile that they are the choice dog breed for labratory testing, any animal will protect itself if it is in danger. That said, they are not known to be aggressive and are so friendly that they make terrible guard dogs.
