The small intestines are important in the digestive system. There are small finger like structures in the Small intestines called villi, these villi extract the nutrients and take it into the blood stream. Without the small intestines you would not be able to extract nutrients from the food.
The small intestine is the largest portion of the digestive tract because this is the area in which most digestion takes place. Nutrients and moisture from food is abosrbed into the bloodstream in the small intestine.
Digestion and absorption. Yummy! The length of the the small intestine allows for more absorption time and its epithelium has specialized villi and on the villi has microvilli adding to its absorption ability. Although digestion does begin in the oral cavity turning the food we eat into a bolus, and the stomach does it's job by turning the bolus into chyme, most of the digestion and absorption takes place in the small intestine. The stomach will squeeze out chyme, in small quantities at a time, into the first part of the small intestine: the duodenum, which is where most of the digestion will take place thanks to more secretions by the gallbladder and pancreas. Then it gets moved along into the jejunum of the small intestine; more absorption along the way, and finally the to the last part of the small intestine, the ileum. At this point everything will have been digested and most of the nutrients will have been absorbed, and now off to the large intestine for its next journey out into the world...life is good!
absorbs nutrients from the food after being broken down in the stomach, takes waste to the anus to be released
ville are present in small intestine..............there helpfull to increase area of absorbtion............and aslo helps to absorb nutrients
The small intestine is the primary location of chemical digestion and absorption of nutrients.
to absorb all the nutrients from the food
yes, it does a specific function.
The main function of the digestive system is to get the food and water you drink through your body.
The parts of the digestive system in order are: Mouth, Throat, Esophagus, Stomach, Small Intestine, Large Intestine, Anus. However, of these the only organs are the stomach and the intestines (small and large). The gallbladder secretes bile to help break down food.
There are seven main systems Muscular System Skeletal system Nervous System Digesetive System respiratory system excretory system circulatory system
the definition of mouth is opening through which food enters the digestive system of an organism
A system in the body is normally composed of a group of organs/tissues which carry out different roles to fulfill a common purpose. Examples are the digestive system (stomach, small intestine, colon etc) and the respiratory system (trachea, lungs etc)
the six main organs in the digestive system are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, the small intestines, the large intestines and the pancreas
Small intestines is the organ where most of the digestion takes place.
intestines stomach and liver
small intestines. ANSWER Your stomach is part of your digestive system. The main function of it is to store food, break it down and begin some absorption. It is not part of the small intestines which is 7 meters long and absorbs nutrients.
Most people might think the stomach was the main digestive system organ, but I'm inclined to think the intestines are the most critical component. People can have surgeries to shrink their stomach size to very small, but the intestines are where nutrients pass to the blood stream.
The digestive system has several different parts. Some of the associated parts in the system are the mouth, esophagus, stomach and intestines.
The small intestine.
Stomach, liver, Small and Large Intestines, Anus
The main parts of the digestive system are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine
there are 5 primary parts of the digestive tract. it starts with the mouth, then goes through the esophagus, then into the stomach which leads to the small intestine then into the large intestine then to the rectum
False
There are many places in the digestive system, but the main 3, not counting the mouth, are the stomach, the small intestine, and the large intestine.
