I think that a Jewish Christian is a person of Jewish heritage, but believes that Jesus Christ is the messiah.

Remember, "Jewish" can indicate either a religious affiliation, or an ethnic group. In this context, "Jewish Christian" would refer to an ethnic group, and would be similar in use to something like "Chinese Christian" or "Arab Christian".

___

As far as I'm aware, nearly all converts to Christianity from Judaism (and their descendants) call themselves, quite simply, Christians. Names like Jewish Christians suggest ambiguity or even that they want the best of both worlds, so to speak. That said, there is a small sect that somehow tries to do just that.

Yes a Jew can be a Christian. A Jew is a person of a particular ethno-cultural group, they do have their own religious practices - Judaism

Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God, the Messiah, who died as the lamb of God, a sacrifice for all who believe and if a Jew believes this then a Jew can become a Christian.
