As of (today's date), I, (your name)residing at (your address) am no longer resposnible for any debts other than those incurred by myself. (California) * First the party seeking the action must have permission from the court. This is done by filing a Motion For Publication. If the motion is granted, the party publishes the notice in the newspaper that has the largest circulation in the county where the divorce has been filed. The editor in charge of the "legal notice" section of the chosen newspaper will assist the requesting party in the wording of the notice.

Not unless the whereabouts of the other party are unknown. In that case the court may order a publishing.

However, in many areas, the local newspapers - especially in smaller cities and towns, will routinely post all legal actions as a matter of public service and you may not be able to avoid it since the court records are a public record.

You don't, you divorce your husband through the courts.

The publication of notice in the paper is used in lieu of serving papers, but is only usually acceptable after you have tried, and failed, to serve papers in other ways, including in person and by mailing to his last known address.

Other than that, the divorce is done essentially the same way as any other divorce.

You can go to your public library and look in the archives of your local daily newspaper for others that have been previously published. Or call your local legal services clinic.

A newspaper notice of divorce is done when the respondent cannot be found. The notice must be notarized by court, and forwarded to the local newspaper of your choice to complete.

It is called public service and I would recommend to get an attorney to do that as the laws can be tricky.

How do you place a public notice of divorce in the newspaper what happens if there is no response?

You have the paper delivered by someone from the court house where you filed for divorce. * The notice is placed in the legal or personal classified section of the newspaper in the area in where the person is assumed to reside. The time the notice is required to run depends upon the laws of the state where the dissolution of marriage petition is filed. If there is not a response within the state's specified time limit, the divorce will be granted on the grounds of a default by the absentee spouse.
