A lion will kill a hyena, but will not eat it. While hyenas can kill lions, they are usually only able to do so when they outnumber the lions. The only animal that will eat a hyena under normal circumstances is a crocodile, and rarely, another hyena. A dead hyena may be eaten by any number of different scavengers.
well its sort of a draw. the cheetah of corse has its super speed and big claws but on the other hand if the hyena got ahold of the cheetahs neck it would crush it because of its massive jaw power or lets say the hyena got ahold of the cheetahs leg it would lock those powerful jaws on and not let go. its kinda a 50 50 chance.
While it is difficult to tell whether a hyena is male or female by visual inspection alone, the two sexes are different in hyenas. Hyenas are not hermaphrodites. Some other ways of telling if a hyena is male or female: If a hyena is suckling cubs, then that hyena is female. If a hyena rules the clan, then that hyena is female. If a hyena is bullied even by cubs, then that hyena is (probably)…
The hyena is a scavenger as well as a hunter it will eat just about any meat that is dead, including an elephant. As a pack hunter the hyena can bring down any different number of the members of the herbivores around its range in Africa. They're skilled killers. The variety of meat in their diet ranges so widely that it isn't even listed in the Wikipedia article on this critter. A link is provided.
Many people think its a dog, others cat. Truely it is nether. The hyena has its own family, the Hyenidae. In this animal family belongs the Brown hyena, the Spotted hyena, the Striped hyena, and the insect eating Aardwolf. I hope more people actually figure this out and start knowing what animal a hyena is :)
